چکیده
We present new imaging data on the ultracompact H ii region G45.45+0.06 at nearand mid-infrared wavelengths. High-resolution data were taken in the H and K ′ bands using ESO’s adaptive optics system ADONIS. The resulting images with a generic resolution of 0. ′′4 for the first time allow the resolution of the object into several single point-like sources. Additionally, we present images obtained in the mid-infrared at 3.5, 10, and 12 μm. A Brγ image was obtained to serve as a measure for the extinction towards this region. We derive the physical properties of the point sources and show that some of them are young, massive stars. By combining our data with earlier VLA maps, we measure the extinction towards the region and discuss the history of the object. Finally, we conclude that G45.45+0.06 is a young OB cluster similar to the KL/BN Region in Orion and that sequential star formation is the reason for its present morphology.

The environs of the ultracompact HII region G 45 . 45 + 0 . 06
Aims. G45.45+0.06 is an ultra-compact HII (UCHII) region extensively studied. It is known that G45.45+0.06 is embedded in a complex of UCHII regions, but up the date, the surrounding ISM in a larger spatial scale has not been analyzed. Methods. Using data from large-scale surveys: Two Micron All Sky Survey, GLIMPSE, MIPSGAL, MAGPIS and GRS, we performed a multiwavelength study of a region about...

Using the NIFS near–infrared integral–field spectrograph behind the facility adaptive optics module, ALTAIR, on Gemini North, we have identified several massive O–type stars that are responsible for the ionization of the Galactic Ultra– Compact H II region G45.45+0.06. The sources “m” and “n” from the imaging study of Feldt et al. (1998) are classified as hot, massive O–type stars based on thei...

The nature of ultracompact H ii regions (UCHRs) remains poorly determined. In particular, they are about an order of magnitude more common than would be expected if they formed around young massive stars and lasted for one dynamical time, around 10 yr. We here perform three-dimensional numerical simulations of the expansion of an H ii region into self-gravitating, radiatively cooled gas, both w...

We describe a detailed depthand time-dependent model of the molecular cloud associated with the ultracompact H ii region G 34.3+0.15. Previous work on observations of NH3 and CS indicates that themolecular cloud has three distinct physical components:an ultracompact hot core, a compact hot core and an extendedhalo.Wehaveused the physical parameters derived from these observations as input to ou...
متن کاملNear Infrared Spectroscopy of G29.96−0.02: The First Spectral Classification of the Ionizing Star of an Ultracompact H II Region
We have obtained the first classification spectrum and present the first direct spectral classification of the ionizing star of an ultracompact H II region. The ultracompact H II region is G29.96−0.02, a well-studied object with roughly twice solar metallicity. The near infrared K-band spectrum of the ionizing star exhibits C IV and N III emission and He II absorption, but lines of H I and He I...
